Introduction

The inaugural issue of Video Gamer magazine from December 2000. A new multiformat magazine from Future Publishing that seemed aimed at competing with GamesMaster and Computer and Video Games magazine with a heavy emphasis on news, previews and reviews with few features or editorials. The magazine was launched at a bargain price of 99p.

Starting around the launch of the PlayStation 2 the magazine was seemingly positioned to cover all things related to the upcoming console wars between Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox and Gamecube but much like the former ended up burning out before it ever picked up steam.
