Featured Advert - PlayStation (Power. Cut.)

Today's featured advert is this quite straightforward yet boldly coloured advert from 1996. As you can see, the original PlayStation received a hefty price reduction putting it at a much more affordable price point than the Saturn or the N64 in the UK. This would turn out to be one (of many) reasons the console saw such huge popularity in the UK. It would not be too long after that the machine would be sold for £99.99 (a price point now unimaginable for a new console) along with all software topping out at £29.99.

This advert was featured in Sega Saturn Magazine Issue 9 from July 96. That's some pretty aggressive targeting from Sony.
